sometimes i want to leave everything behind me n runaway. to pretend i can be alone and just myself. to pretend i have a different job. to pretend i have no wedding to plan. no one to tell me what to do or what not to do. it's outrageous that i don't even know what the hell my wedding date is up til now. i can't have any part of it just for myself and i am always working so hard for others. i don't remember the last time i felt carefree. it is so outrageous that at my lowest, the person i need most to have my back is not here right now. i just want to runaway and forget my current life exist. it's time for a time out and i need to find that outlet to get out of everything i am in. im tired. of absolutely everything. ugh.

I dream of shopping but I am broke... saving for a wedding is no joke..

I just hope everything will happen as planned. Work has been rough with the expanded portfolio. All I am hoping with it too is an expanded bonus.

I miss the usual things now.. going out, movies, late nights, not caring, living for the moment, now all and everything else is about the wedding.

Weekend's drawing near. I am hoping for a good rest and taking care of errands.. Ugh it feels so grown up and I am not over being 25 yet.

Too Much

Planning a wedding has been too much of a deal for me; arguing with the parentals over which solemnisation venue it will be. Am I doing the right thing? Should I give in and succumb to fate aka mum's choice or go all out and make the wedding a special ceremony with my choice of venue?

I didn't think it would be difficult but it really is. It's up to a point where I want to scream and insist I want things done my way but I know it wouldn't make the 'management department' pleased.

So I have decided that I'm going to
vent much of all that anger into some sort of major retail theraphy for me myself and I. Since a personalised solemnisation dinner is out of the question (although my own pocket's footing the bill), then something else has to give.

I feel like i just fell into the cake and it's kinda hard to get up.

i read an article about having 500 books and more will push kids towards more schooling. The gist of it is that it's proven to show effect of encouraging a few mnre years of further studies as compared to kids who grew up not having 500 books and more at home.

spurred by this idea, i decided to start collecting books, not only for future sake but also for the sake of brushing up my grammar and vocab. anywho, i dropped by the mph warehouse sale and bought 10 books on sale for $4 each. they were paperbacks which had seenlonger days in a dimmed storage facility which has recently got a breath of fresher air. i was tempted to get more. i'm looking forward to a blosoming collection of books, from 10 to 500, aye.

3) very much likely getting the waterway terraces in the north east. i really hate being alone if he goes to work. hoping that i will be braver then, being the queen of my own castle and all. gleam.
4) the anxiety of running two jobs before setting eyes on the offer letter and waiting for my replacement
5) booked-up for dinner all the way til the festive wkend
6) can't wait for the festive wkend

it has been a ride.. but things are picking up, and the new job starts tomorrow.
over the weekend, i collected a thick bunch of brochures all about wedding ads. i am very anxious about which ones my parents will pick, cos i really think i may settle with ratu and he thinks so too. its also all about prioritising our expenditures nw. i finally clinched a photographer for the day and i'm very very nervous about the whole thing. but things gotta pick up and go. it's a mixed feeling of nervousness and getting excited... phew

what would you do if you have quit your old job but they kept calling you to come back? but i've wanted to leave for so long, and now that i did, i am relieved to have this opportunity.
maybe i should be thankful, that i really get to leave, although not really on a clean slate.

when i was young, i wanted to draw, paint and play games and be hyper, explore places, dance, act, make people laugh and when people ask me what do i wanna do when i grow up? i don't really know. maybe teach art? that would be fun. but i can't now really cos my ambitions have been simply distorted by what other people want out of me.

i could just go for the dough or make decisions on my own and take a dive. what if i fall? i guess that would be a risk i am taking. but going back for search of stability is just boring. sure it means money. but i am compromising integrity and my ego, of which is already bruised anyway.

i feel right at home with what rob thomas says. maybe i just can't find my calling. but i know what i do not want. so i think if i play this sensibly, then things should be better.

my handphone as of this morning has totally crashed. can't even switch it on. but the weather is great today. sad that i am home instead not doing much outside. perhaps i might visit a nearby mosque tonight if i can make it for fardhu prayers tonite.

after returning from the trip, i honestly feel there's not much difference between being a muslim there and in singapore. only that, being a muslim overseas, in a muslim country, makes you have 100% freedom to wear a scarf over your head and not feel outcasted at all and prayers at every mosque is usually fullhouse instead of praying just at home, and best of all, eat and buy whatever you like cause it is all halal. this is all great in mecca and medina, but the domineering male leaves most women to play roles as housewives looking after children and this is a tough culture to break.

before mecca and madina, i was in amman, jordan. we spend about a day there before heading into jerusalem, israel, which i got detained for about 4 hours. at least i wasn't quarantined alone but i was held back from the rest of the tour group and as the israelis attempts to make it difficult for every muslim to enter their territory, i was just left with nothing except to utter silent prayers in hope i get to cross over.

it was a huge relief and i counted my blessings after being allowed to cross over the most difficult immigration known and honestly, it was all worth it. jerusalem is a beautiful gorgeous historical place and it is just unfortunate that it has to be divided and separated into different territories of religions. on the east is arab's jerusalem and the jewish territory is along the west bank if im nt wrong and it's funny that the church should look like mosques perhaps due to their analogous culture.

and while around amman, we managed to visit the dead sea, it was most serene but very very hot weather that my ice cream melts before i can lick it. the last place ive been was the red sea in jeddah and we managed to pray in the floating mosque which was most lucky cause even my tour guide who visited three times before says it's the first time he's seen the doors open to allow for prayers.

given a chance to go back, i definitely would. many many times over, insyallah.

i have been really occupied.
did some shopping, got a new suit, stuff for work, watch, shoes,
everything but a bag, so my excuse next month is to get one.
went to KL and back, went on leave from work a few days, had a birthday, some cakes and a haircut, a lot of things to start off since february rolled in.
i'm glad to say, i've load up on more energy than ever, i'm getting more motivated to make changes at work and i'm getting my act together i think.

ok now, i'll just post the peektures.

(cycling along) quiet stretches of beach in the afternoon,
conversations over strong coffee at gram's in KL (everynight!),
and i came and conquered the rootbeer float :)

hey i hate new years. always end up with a bad new year. i hope this year won't suck for me. i only remember one good new year but that's a story i won't pull out from my closet.

now, i just feel rather annoyed why the world has to treat new year's like some grand finale to a big musical. to me, it's one day i can spend as an excuse to get half-day off work on the eve and spend it with your 'loved ones' and treat myself to a carefree sleep the day after.

but this year, feel free to take away the part where i mentioned 'loved ones' and replace it with no one or strangers or this; crowds of happy strangers.

i don't know why i'm so sour about the whole ordeal.
maybe perhaps when i rewind my life, 13 odd years ago, i still feel the same.
13 years ago i wonder what i'd be doing when i'm almost 24.
13 years later, i'm still wondering why i still don't know what i want to be doing.

well, despite my day job, my family, and my friends, every other part of the time i've consumed, i seem to be moping about unrequited feelings and of past and 'passing' heroes of my life, or lack there of.

i guess it's pretty useless when you are running in the same circle around and around. so i'm going to put a stop to my nonsense and end my wild goose chase. well, if you are out or not, celebrating or pouting, may you usher in 2009 with a giant leap in faith. well, we should all at least believe in ourselves, if we couldn't believe in others.

it's the weekend of new years; double whammy for both calendars.

it's good to eat with friends and family... and i hope everybody had a good time.

for the new year, i'd like to be much more brave.
